Rachael Elizabeth Davidson

Red Studio is Rachael Elizabeth Davidson.

Rachael completed her Diploma in Architecture at the University of Westminster in June 2009 and is now working for HUT Architecture.

She has previously worked as an architect in New York and London on projects such as the Queen Mary’s Graduate Humanities Facility, London, Ross Global Charter School, New York City, and private residences in New York, Pennsylvania and Mumbai, India.

Rachael is particularly interested in the alternative roles of architecture and space within cities after writing her diploma thesis ‘Grand Street: The Cultural Fight for Space(s).

She has also worked for the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment and Architecture for Humanity, UK for a number of years. Most recently, Rachael has been coordinating with ‘This Is Not A Gateway’ (TINAG) on their recent publication Critical Cities: Ideas, Knowledge and Agitation from Emerging Urbanists” whilst helping to curate the TINAG Urban Festival in London last October during which she launched her first archival project “Mapping Memories: One Line Only”

Currently Rachael is working with Dr. Cristian Suau at the Welsh School of Architecture where she will be running a month long workshop as part of the undergraduate Vertical Studio programme.  This project has developed to involve an entry into the London Festival of Architecture 2010.
